Chibuike Nwaiwu started his early football career days in Nigeria where he had developmental stages of his career in Borussia Digitals Sporting Academy.
One of the most notable point of the youth career of Chibuike Nwaiwu is his debut for Heartland Football Club in the Nigerian professional football league.
His debut for the Nigerian side on 1st December, 2021 marked his first professional appearance in the Nigerian league where he grew to establish himself as one of the best.
With 17 Appearances for FC Heartland in his first season in the Nigerian premier football league, Chibuike Nwaiwu became a highly sorted after defender in the NPFL.
After a season with Heartland Football Club, Chibuike Nwaiwu moved to Enyimba International football club in December 2022.
He had a stellar campaign with the prolific NPFL side as he played for two seasons in the club between 2022 and 2024.
Chibuike Nwaiwu had a total of 43 competitive games for Enyimba International football club and even registered a goal to his name during the spell.
More significantly, Chibuike Nwaiwu was part of the Enyimba FC team that won the Nigerian premier football league title in 2022/2023 season.
With his consistency and class, it did not take long before offers from foreign clubs started pouring in for the lad. One of such came from Wolfsberger AC in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.
He sealed a permanent move to Wolfsberger AC in September 2024 on a three-year contract whose expiry date was 2027
Chibuike Nwaiwu played for Wolfsberger AC in the final as they won the 2024/2025 Austrian Cup, which was their first ever domestic trophy.
On the 7th of January, 2026, Chibuike Nwaiwu was signed by Trabzonspor FC in the Turkish Super Lig on a €5.50m transfer fee.
