Salim Fago Lawal was born in Lago, Nigeria where he developed his love for soccer and has since become a world-class sensation after following up the dream of being a professional footballer.
Salim Fago Lawal moved to Abuja to start his developmental stage of football with the Malvon football academy in Abuja. He started his journey with Mavlon Football Academy around 2021 and continued with them till 2022.
In late 2023, Salim Fago Lawal began to represent Mavlon Football club in a more professional level and did not just impress in the team but he attracted interest beyond Nigeria and Africa.
On 1st of August 2023, Salim Fago Lawal signed a professional contract with Croatian League side, Istra 1961 until 2026. He wasted no time before making his debut on the 6th of August in 2023 against Rijeka Football Club.
On the 17th of June 2025, he renewed his contract with Istra 1961 until 2028 after having an impressive season with the HNL League side where he scored double figures for the team.
